I've been a fan of basketball for the past several years. But for some unknown reason, I am not fully invested this year. I believe that is influenced by how well the Raptors are playing. I'm a huge fan of the Warriors as well, but they're not having a fantastic year. But, I would really like to take more time to watch that sport.
Canada vs Canadian
On Monday, I watched the game. The Raptors were playing against the Nuggets. On paper, I believe Denver had a greater chance of winning the match because they were playing at home and had a better team. Nonetheless, the Raports controlled the most of the game. They lost their possesion right before the end of the game. What a good timing... But I must admit that their game impressed me. Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam and Jakob Poeltl performed a tremendous game. VanVleet scored three points on three made shots. Jamal Murray, a true Canadian, though, made 5 three-pointers. I always admire the player, but he was injured in the last few years. He's back playing alongside the MVP Nikola Jokic, and I'm so glad to see him.
Surprise
Last night, there was a controversial decision. With only 28 seconds left in the game, it was extremely tight. The referee ejected Scottie Barnes from the game while the Nuggets had a one-point advantage. He wasn't aggressive, but it appears like he spoke to the referee. The other referee, who was closer to Barnes, was shocked by the decision. It was clear that he did not comprehend the choice. We all know how intense those games are, thus I don't like those decisions. Also, it could be crucial for the playoffs as we are in a crucial period of the season. The official should have let the players play because that decision was illogical. While I don't claim that this decision caused the Raptors to lose the game, the momentum was undoubtedly altered.
Respect the veteran
The Nuggets are a fantastic team, and they deserved to win, so I'll do my best to be a good player. We must now discuss the changes the Raptors must make. When VanVleet initially started getting an opportunity to play for the squad, I was his biggest supporter. I never mistrust him but I believe that the team needs to be honest when there are issues. Trent, Barnes, and VanVleet don't get along well, and it's obvious on the court. Barnes is far too talented and too young to be traded. The same is true for Trent; he is a wise replacement for Norman Powell, who I used to adore. So it only left us with VanVleet, but I don't think I am ready to let go of him. We developed that player, and he went on to become one of the league's most crucial players. Furthermore, Flynn is not yet ready to play at the level that VanVleet is, let's face it. Hence, I believe that we should keep those guys, but with some restrictions. On the court, I dislike hearing or seeing trash language. They must be able to work effectively together because they are three of the team's greatest players. VanVleet clearly deserves respect, but I'm not sure if that is the issue. He put in a lot of effort to qualify for the league and compete for a title. Trent and Barnes lack that, so they can learn a lot from the veteran.
